Mixed Veterinary Surgeon Vacancy - Maternity Cover

Come and join our friendly team and experience the amazing scenery and culture of Shetland at the Uk’s most northerly vet practice!

One of our vets is going on maternity leave and we are looking for a mixed vet to join our Employee-Owned practice for the year. 

Details:

  • 6 Vet team
  • Supported by 3 full time RVN, 4 flexi hours RVN, 2 ACAs and our experienced Receptionists complete the team
  • 4 days a week
  • OOH 1-in-5 evening and weekend rota with Monday off in lieu
  • Varied workload rotating around all 3 branches
  • Equipment: ultrasound scanners, endoscope, digital x-ray, dental x-ray and IDEXX lab suite

Our practices offer a range of services from routine check-ups to emergency surgeries.

Maternity cover will take you over the Winter months when the Northern Lights are visible, from January when the fire festivals and Up Helly Aa occur and into April with the world renown Folk Festival, towards June and the time of the midnight sun, Simmer Dim!

Salary and benefits:

  • Salary ranges from £32,000 up to £45,000 for those confident with sole charge and complicated surgery.
  • VDS and RCVS membership paid. 
  • A practice van is supplied with fuel card.
  • Accommodation.
  • 25 days annual leave.
